Living in Inhambane province we meet many ex-pats who have relocated to the beaches nearby. After discussing what we do here in the country and how much money we earn and live on we are inevitably asked "You make how much?? How do you eat??" The answer: lots of leaves.
Hortiliza is a common dish in this area which consists of coconut milk, ground peanuts, and whatever leaves you can get your hands on (seriously. bean leaves, pumpkin leaves. doesn't matter). Believe it or not we're actually able to tell the difference between these dishes now - it takes a sophisticated palette, I'm sure. Olga tries to keep it interesting, but depending on the season, that can be difficult. So, here you go, see if you can tell the difference:
{Pumpkin}
{Sweet Potato}
{Kove}
{Matapa / Cassava}
{Niemba Beans}
